Costa Rica is home to many beautiful waterfalls, making it challenging to choose just a few. However, here are some of the best waterfalls in Costa Rica that are definitely worth a visit.

These are just a few examples of the many stunning waterfalls that can be found in Costa Rica. Each one offers its own unique beauty and opportunities for adventure and exploration.

La Fortuna Waterfall

This waterfall is located near the Arenal Volcano in the northern part of the country and drops over 200 feet into a stunning turquoise pool. It is surrounded by lush rainforest and offers visitors the chance to hike down to the base of the waterfall and take a refreshing swim in the pool.

Nauyaca Waterfalls

This twin waterfall system is located in the southern part of the country and is considered one of the most stunning waterfalls in Costa Rica. The larger waterfall is over 140 feet tall, and the smaller waterfall cascades down several tiers into a series of smaller pools.

Rio Celeste Waterfall

This waterfall is located within the Tenorio Volcano National Park in northern Costa Rica and is known for its bright blue waters, which are a result of a natural chemical reaction between volcanic minerals and the water in the river.

Llanos de Cortes Waterfall

This waterfall is located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica and drops over 30 feet into a large pool that is perfect for swimming and wading. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is an excellent spot for birdwatching.

Catarata del Toro

This waterfall is located near the Poás Volcano in central Costa Rica and drops over 300 feet into a volcanic crater. The waterfall is surrounded by lush rainforest and is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Costa Rica.
